McDonald Insurance Solutions was founded by Brett McDonald over 20 years ago, building on a career that now spans more than 4 decades in the insurance industry.
Throughout his career, Brett has remained committed to providing trusted advice, personalised service, and strong advocacy for his clients. Recognising the need for an insurance brokerage that put clients first, he established McDonald Insurance Solutions with a simple philosophy: to build long-term relationships and deliver insurance solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Over the past two decades, the business has grown through the trust and loyalty of its clients while maintaining the values on which it was founded. Today, McDonald Insurance Solutions is a proud family-owned business, the entire team are helping to continue the family legacy.

With more than 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, Brett McDonald is a trusted adviser dedicated to helping businesses and individuals protect what matters most. As the founder of McDonald Insurance Solutions, Brett has spent more than 20 years building a respected family-owned business founded on trust, integrity, personalised service, and long-term client relationships. His extensive knowledge spans business insurance, risk assessment, and tailored insurance solutions, enabling clients to confidently navigate complex insurance requirements while ensuring they have the right protection in place. Based in Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast, Brett lives and works within the community he serves. Brett provides personalised service to clients throughout the South Coast, Eurobodalla region, Tamworth, and across Australia. Known for his commitment and accessibility, Brett prides himself on being available to support his clients whenever they need expert advice, guidance, or advocacy. As an Authorised Representative of Insurance Advisernet Australia (IAA), Brett is supported by one of Australia’s leading insurance advisory networks. This partnership provides access to specialist resources, including compliance support, technical expertise, claims advocacy, training, and premium management services, allowing Brett to focus on delivering exceptional advice and service to his clients.

Kaia York is a qualified insurance broker and experienced claims specialist who is passionate about helping clients protect their businesses, assets, and livelihoods. As part of the McDonald Insurance Solutions team, Kaia works closely with clients to provide tailored insurance advice, policy management, and dedicated claims support when it matters most. Kaia is highly qualified insurance professional, having completed her Diploma in Insurance Broking and the prestigious Insurance Advisernet Accelerator Program. As the business’s claims expert, Kaia manages the entire claims process from lodgement to resolution, ensuring efficient, fair outcomes and minimising client stress. She takes pride in building strong relationships and helping clients navigate often complex insurance matters with confidence and clarity. As a member of the family-owned business, Kaia shares the company’s core values of trust, integrity, teamwork, and advocacy. Based in Northern NSW in Tamworth, she is proud to support local businesses, families, and communities while delivering professional advice and exceptional client care.
Nicole McDonald
Operations Manager
Nicole McDonald is the Operations Manager of McDonald Insurance Solutions and has been an integral part of the business for more than 20 years. With extensive experience in business operations, accounts management, and administration, often working behind the scenes, Nicole is responsible for keeping the business running efficiently and effectively. From managing operations and accounts to supporting the team and implementing business improvements, she helps create the strong foundation that allows McDonald Insurance Solutions to deliver exceptional outcomes for its clients. Nicole combines hands-on business management experience with a strong commitment to community service, having successfully operated her own business and actively contributed to Batemans Bay Rotary for more than 10 years She believes that the success of McDonald Insurance Solutions is built on the dedication of its people and is proud to work alongside a talented team whose commitment to clients and each other is at the heart of everything they do.
Taryn McDonald

She is also fluent in German, allowing her to communicate effectively with a broader range of clients and stakeholders.
